Hayas Hosseini Bio

Hayas Hosseini, born in 1978 in Kermanshah Province, graduated from Payam Shahid Technical High School in the field of scientific and laboratory glassblowing. He holds a first-degree art certificate (equivalent to a Ph.D.) from the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Handicrafts of Tehran Province. He completed a two-year course in figurative design in Baku under Mrs. Sona Nagiyeva and another two-year course in sculpture under Mehdi Samadi (sculptor from Tabriz and lecturer at the Azerbaijan Art Academy).

Hosseini has undergone training in flame working and modern glassblowing techniques under the guidance of experienced international instructors. He is also proficient in creating neon art, a branch of glassblowing, which holds a special place in contemporary art.

Exhibitions and artistic contribution:

  • Exhibition at the Azerbaijan Art Academy in Baku with the theme of Pomegranate, where he won second place.
  • Exhibition along the Caspian Sea Biennial Conference titled Caspi (a combination of neon and glass).
  • Exhibition at the French Embassy titled Reflection.
  • Exhibition at the Azerbaijan Central Museum with the theme of Small Sculptures.
  • Collaboration with contemporary Azerbaijani artist Sabina Shikhlinskaya, executing design works with neon and glass in Baku.
  • Participation in the Glass Biennial in Denizli, Turkey, as an Iranian artist alongside three glass artists from the Czech Republic, Australia, and the USA in May 2015.
  • Participation in the 7th International Contemporary Art Festival named Zdanovich Brothers in August 2015 in Georgia.
  • Scientific director of the Everlasting Glass Heritage exhibition held at the National Museum of Glassware and Ceramics in Iran in 2017.
  • Solo exhibition titled configuration (featuring neon material) at the Zhaleh Gallery in 2019.
  • Member of the jury for the evaluation of glassblowing at the Cultural Heritage Ministry Research Institute.
  • Designer and scientific director for Abgineh; Glassware Design exhibition in 2021.
