Paulina Ptaszyńska Bio

I am engaged in activities within the field of new media, multimedia installation, AV performance, graphics, and graphic design. The research conducted by me explores the boundary areas between art and science. I focus on issues related to human perception, the intricate nature of the world, and the phenomena occurring within it. I examine the relationships between aesthetic experience and cognitive processes. In my artistic endeavors, I explore areas connected to the exact sciences such as physics, astronomy, meteorology, and cosmology. I utilize statistical data, geodetic materials, and cartography. My attention is directed towards observing and analyzing natural processes and physical phenomena, which serve as a starting point for creative endeavors.

In my artistic work, I employ the language of new media, creating audiovisual pieces with both temporal and static characteristics, including digital graphics, video art, AV performances, as well as multimedia, mapping, and intermedial installations.

My works have been presented at solo and group exhibitions in Poland and internationally, including the Czech Republic, Holland, France, Germany, Iran, Romania, Italy and the USA. I am deputy director of the Institute of Visual Arts and co-lead the multimedia studio at the Faculty of Art, University of Opole.
