Description: Earthenware bowl, dimensions: 30 x 14 cm, technique: underglazed painting On this bowl, a lover and beloved are depicted by a riverside, felt deep in love, dancing, drinking and also merrymaking. The beloved’s attention has turned somewhere else, and she has withdrawn from the affection and charm of her lover. Around the rim of the bowl, verses by Molana (Rumi) are used , expressing the spiritual station of the lover. Also the lover bird is shown trying to redirect the beloved’s eyes back toward the beloved, but he is not successful. On the outer surface of the bowl, the heartless people are shown breaking musical instruments in an attempt to prevent the lover’s dance and expressions of love.
