The esteemed artist Ms. Negin Navabi has been selected as the Featured Artist of Fall 2024 by the jury of Artistam Magazine.
In this issue, dedicated to the arts of pottery, ceramics, and glass, Ms. Navabi presented three remarkable works that reflected her outstanding experience and artistic vision. With the highest number of votes from the jury, she was recognized as the Featured Artist of the Fall 2024 issue of the international Artistam magazine.
Biography of Negin Navabi
Negin Navabi, a 56-years-old ,glass artist from Shiraz, Iran, has become a prominent figure in the Iranian art community. Initially studying Food Industries, she shifted her focus to ceramics before mastering glass artistry, particularly fused glass. Her training at Istanbul’s Glass Furnace School led her to become a resident artist there. Over 15 years, Negin has innovated in glass casting, including developing a unique glass paste formula, enabling her to create expressive sculptures.
Her work has gained international acclaim, earning her recognition at Bulgaria’s biennial exhibition twice. Inspired by marine life, her series Nature in the Future envisions a world where art and science merge, transforming static sculptures into living forms. Looking ahead, Negin plans to integrate new technologies and collaborate with scientists to further evolve glass artistry. Her journey embodies creativity, innovation, and perseverance, blending tradition with visionary ideas.

Collection Title: Nature in the Future
Statement: The material used in these pieces is made from pâte de verre using recycled window glass powder, combined with gelatin, gum, and sugar. This paste has the unique ability to bend and fold, which allowed the creation of sculptures up to 25 cm in diameter. The formula emerged after months of experimentation, followed by extensive testing to determine its ideal firing schedule. The process not only reflected commitment to sustainability but also served as a testament to the power of creativity in overcoming material constraints.
